About Billy

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
My brother Ralphy and I were brought to a local veterinarian's office where we were both diagnosed as blind. We were relinquished to the vet by our breeder and they contacted MPR. We were about 8 weeks old at the time. We are now 10 months old. We had not had any of our vaccines but we are all up to date now, and neutered. I'm the braver of the two of us. I can already jump on furniture, climb up stairs and go in and out the doggy door at my foster mom's house. I love chewing on things, especially wood. Foster mom is working on that. If you throw a nylabone my way, I'll quit chewing wood. I love getting baths and I love going for walks. I can see a tiny bit, so I get freaked out easily. Sometimes I see stuff and get really jumpy. Can't help it. I'm very quick but come on command. My favorite thing to do is eat. If you ever have the advantage of seeing me eat, you will probably think that I haven't eaten in ages. I like to steal food from my foster brothers and sisters too, so now I'm eating separately from everyone. I'm very attached to my brother. We cuddle together all of the time. We are also crate trained, but sleep in separate crates. If we slept in the same crate we would be playing all night long and wouldn't get any beauty sleep (and we need it)! I haven't had any major health issues, except that my good eye is often red and requires daily drops. I don't want to lose my eye like my brother did. It was very painful for him. Anyway, if you would like to bring constant joy into your home, please consider adopting me and my brother. We are so lovable and we have SO much to give. We just need a home that can understand that even though we are blind, we are not hindered. Honestly, when my foster mom has friends over and she tells them that we're blind, they NEVER believe her! Besides the occasional bump into something (only when she moves furniture around), we get around very well. Our foster mom teaches us how to watch out, stop and be careful when we get close to bumping. So, go and fill out one of those adoption applications and make sure that you put BILL & RALPH on it. We can't wait to meet you! Please visit www.michiganpugrescue.com to fill out an application.
