, I’m Gatsby! I think my name used to be “Gatsby, NO” but my foster humans say I am way better behaved than I used to be, and they just call me “Gatsby” now. They tell me that I still need a little work on a few things but that I am a very good boy now and pretty handsome too in case you did not notice! When I find my forever family, I would not mind if I was the only dog. If my forever family does have a dog, it would probably be best if the dog is submissive because I like to be the boss (who doesn’t?) and sometimes I growl and I have even gone after dog friends that my foster humans bring over. I don’t like when dogs are too bouncy and playful, it’s annoying so I let them know because I am not shy at all!
I sleep in a crate with a really comfy dog bed and blanket. I am really happy and well behaved in there as long as my foster humans give me a couple treats when I am ready for bed. In the morning I have to go potty outside so I let them know that they need to let me out and of course, they need to feed me. I love eating!! Eating is my favorite thing to do, in fact, my humans say I need to go in my crate when they are not home because once I climbed on their table and got some food that they left up there for me. They claim it was not for me but I’m sure that anything that smells that good must be for me and I keep my mind sharp by figuring out ways that I can get to the food. My foster humans are no fun, they don’t leave food on tables anymore. ☹
Besides eating, my other favorite thing to do is curl up on the couch under a blanket with my foster mom or take a nap with my foster dad. I also really love to go for walks but my humans say that while my leash manners have improved they still need some work. I like to chew on Nyla bones and play with stuffed animals on my foster mom’s lap. I am very sweet and really love being with my foster humans. They make me feel safe. They even put me on some medicine to help me not be so anxious when they are not around or when I go in the car. I cry a lot when I go in the car but my foster humans are helping me see that sometimes that can be fun too.
I really hope I find my forever family soon because I have a lot of love to give. I hope they will continue to work with me and maybe even take me to training so I can continue to get good boy treats (Did I mention that I really like eating)?
I am up to date on my Rabies, DHLLP, Bordetella, and Flu vaccines. I have been tested for heartworm and that was negative so now I take a pill every month to make sure I don't get them.
