About Ralphy

My brother Billy and I were brought to a local veterinarian's office where we were both diagnosed as blind. We were relinquished to the vet by our breeder and they contacted MPR. We were about 8 weeks old at the time. We are now 10 months old. We had not had any of our vaccines but we are all up to date now, and neutered. I'm the more cautious of the two of us. I've had a few accidents. I had to have my eye removed because of an ulcer that ruptured. It was only about 13 weeks old and already had to have emergency surgery! Then, in March, I was neutered. That was traumatic. Then in April, my foster dad was taking me out of my crate and I wiggled and squirmed and jumped! Can you believe it? I jumped! I won't even jump off of a pillow on the floor. I only fell about a foot, but, as luck would have it, I fractured my hip. Apparently, I had a pre-existing fracture and this made it worse. I had to have another emergency surgery, and then I had to be confined to a crate with minimal activity for a month! When I went back for x-rays and a recheck, they found out that my surgery didn't take, so back to the operating table I went! This time, I was allowed to play after surgery and I healed perfectly! I have a great vet. So, yeah, I only have one eye, and my back left leg is a little shorter then the right one, but I am HANDSOME and since all of this happened in my first six months, I'm hoping to be problem free for the rest of my life! Anyway, if you would like to bring constant joy into your home, please consider adopting me and my brother. We are so lovable and we have SO much to give. We just need a home that can understand that even though we are blind, we are not hindered. Honestly, when my foster mom has friends over and she tells them that we're blind, they NEVER believe her! Besides the occasional bump into something (only when she moves furniture around), we get around very well. Our foster mom teaches us how to watch out, stop and be careful when we get close to bumping. So, go and fill out one of those adoption applications and make sure that you put BILL & RALPH on it. We can't wait to meet you! Please visit www.michiganpugrescue.com to fill out an application.
