Harold is one of the 15 Pugs Pug Luv rescued from a puppy mill. He is 6 months old.. He has been microchipped and has been neutered, vaccinated for Rabies, DHLLP, Bordetella, heart worm, fecal and blood tested. He is on Tacrolimus eye drops to dissolve the pigmentation that has already formed in his eyes. He has been scheduled to see the Ophthalmologist. Harold's appointment with the Ophthalmologist revealed he needed surgery for Medial Canthal Trichiasis. This will remove the eyelashes in the corner of his eye that are irritating the eye and causing the continued watering of the eye. His surgery was scheduled for December 8th. He visited the surgeon on December 15th at which time he was released for adoption. He will need to continue to receive Tacrolimus twice daily until the vet states it can be discontinued. He will need to see the Ophthalmologist in December 2016 for a follow up appointment unless thee are issues with his vision at which time he would need to be seen by the Ophthalmologist immediately. As is the case with dogs that come from a puppy mill they are not housebroken or socialized. Patience will be the utmost to acclimate them to human interaction so they can learn what it is to be cared about, loved and in a situation where they are not just used to produce puppies.
