Henrietta
Henri, although you were with us a very short time, we all loved you very much. Every evening at around 8:30 p.m., you knew it was TV and dinner time. You would let us know each evening that we needed to get dinner ready and head in the direction of the TV room.. Just like clockwork, you would give us a few quick barks to let us know that we were not following your schedule and that we needed to get a "move-on-it". Our dear Henri, you were a very special girl and our hearts are heavy with your passing. We miss you very much and are so happy that we had the opportunity to have you in our lives, even though it feels like we just got you yesterday. Frolic with all those that have gone before you. Tess
On September 3, 2005, I adopted the cutest little pug named Tina from MPR. She was renamed Tess and soon became an integral part of my family. We all became quickly attached to Tess. My sister used to beg weekly to bring Tess to our parents house so she could cuddle with her. Tess was such a love bug and loved human attention, pets, and cuddles. Tess became such a big part of my life and was truly my BFF. Over the years, Tess accompanied me through many moves for various reasons and was by my side through life's ups and downs. We ended up in Washington, DC, where I met the man of my dreams in early 2009. I soon lost my BFF status as she became Daddy's little girl. Chris and I were married on September 3, 2011. I truly believe that September 3 must be my lucky day. Tess shared the travel bug with us and we were lucky that due to her size, we were able to carry her onboard with us when flying. We even joked that she was collecting doggie airline miles for all her travels. She was such a great traveler and companion to us both. She was getting older and we wanted to spend as much time as we could with her. She had severe arthritis, was blind, and earlier this year, we found out that she had the onset of kidney failure. We took this opportunity to have some family photos taken with Tess that we will cherish always. On Monday, March 25th, we had to make one of the most heart breaking and difficult decisions of our lives in letting Tess go to The Rainbow Bridge. She was 13. She was such a fighter over the years with multiple ailments that she overcame. We were beginning to think that Tess may outlive us all. We miss Tess tremendously but are comforted to know she is free of pain and running around with her sweet pug cousin Olive as we write this. Tess was doted on by all our friends and family and felt our love for her each and every day. We felt so lucky to be her parents. She will always hold a very special place in our hearts. Yoda
It is with great sadness that we inform everyone at the Pug Rescue of the death of our Yoda. We adopted Yoda from Michigan Pug Rescue in September of 2011. We fell in love with Yoda the minute we saw him on the Pug Rescue site, and those feelings were just confirmed when we went out to the Laurel Park Place Mall to meet him in person. Yoda was such a sweet, personable dog. Everyone who met him, loved him!! Yoda very quickly became ill this past week. We took him to the veterinarian on Friday, and he was diagnosed with pneumonia. After a night of hospitalization and a lot of antibiotics, it looked like things would get better. However, his condition worsened once we brought him home. We took him back to the vet's today, and the news wasn't good; he had developed pulmonary edema. We had no time to decide what to do, as Yoda made his own decision, and went on to cross the Rainbow Bridge within the few minutes of his diagnosis. Our hearts are broken. Yoda was a wonderful boy, such a great addition to our family. His personality was so mellow and sweet, but yet he had a spunk which was totally charming!! He loved to bark at the golfers which passed by on the course which we live on, (giving them golfing lessons, no doubt), or to demand his dinner at the top of his lungs. He will be greatly missed by his little sister, Mirdle, (while he initially shared a somewhat adversarial relationship with her at first), they were the best of friends in recent months, sleeping and eating together always. Thank you to everyone at the Michigan Pug Rescue for allowing us to adopt this wonderful dog!! He will forever live in our hearts. With great sadness, Chris and Sue Richards.

Joey
Joey came to live with us on Dec. 10, 2003, after MPR rescued him from a puppy mill with many others. Words cannot describe what he has meant to us. He was truly a member of our family. He was the sweetest dog! He loved everybody and never hurt anyone. He loved us so much! We cannot even imagine our home without him in it. We will miss him sleeping on his favorite step, laying on his spot on the couch, snoring in our bed, sleeping by the front door in a warm sun beam, going on the boat in the summer, and the list could go on and on. We are deeply saddened by our loss. We have so many great memories of him. We will hold on to those and think about him with every day that passes. With broken hearts, The Havasis

Hannah
Hannah came into our world on July 4, 2000. She was born in our home after her mother along with 22 others were rescued from a Pennsylvania puppy mill. Hannah was tube feed by her mom, Kathy until she was able to drink from a bottle and then survive on her own. Hannah was the only one of a litter of 5 to survive. Kathy tube fed her because her mom had also passed. Once she was able to drink from a bottle and then survive on her own Kathy continued to nurse her. At the time, Ivory had also come into the rescue from another puppy mill and she assisted Kathy in performing many of the motherly duties. Hannah always had her odd behavior. She would look up to the ceiling when entering a doorway as if to make sure it was OK to go through. She did not like to walk on any surface that was not carpeted. At one time we changed our home to hard wood floors and were forced to change them back to carpeting because Hannah would not go from room to room using area rugs. She always required us to take her outside and place her off of the grass because she would not walk down the 2 stairs to get to the yard. The picture of Hannah was taken when she was staying for a couple of days at one of the foster homes and she made it clear nobody was going to play with any of the toys (even though she never played with a toy herself) She crossed the Rainbow Bridge Saturday, April 13, 2013 peacefully at home. Hopefully the demons that seemed to play with her mind from time to time are now gone and she will romp with Ebony, Sarah, Ivory and Jo Jo in a place where the is peace and tranquility. She will be missed.
