Tyson
Tyson Tyree passed on Nov. 3 2022. He was my best friend and fur baby for 15 years.
I adopted him from the Los Angeles Craigslist in 2007. He was 2yrs 8mo old. He was from Hong Kong . I had to learn Cantonese to communicate with him. That was just the first of many things he would inspire me to learn or introduce me to. He passed at 17yrs 8mo yo.
Here are some highlights of our adventures together…We have been on the Today Show helping people learn about the wonders of CBD, he has been a YouTube star, helped me learn acceptance and presence and came on my Detroit adventure so I wouldn’t have to be alone. I’m so grateful for my little doodle burger.
Stu
Our family was lucky enough to adopt Stu in 2009. We had him for 13 wonderful years and loved him as our four-legged family member. The Michigan Pug Rescue did a great job helping Stu through a serious medical issue and we are lucky that they gave us the opportunity to take care of him the rest of the way. He was an amazing Pug with a great personality! He loved his food (like almost every Pug) and just enjoyed being with his family. He will be forever missed!
Rosie
Sweet little Rosie was adopted from Michigan Pug Rescue as a puppy in 2010. She was a Pug and Shih Tzu mix. Rosie had a unique personality, was friendly with everyone and loved food. Rosie crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 5, 2022. She will be greatly missed by her mom Laurie Smalis, pug brother Bruce and ginger cat brother Norman. If anyone would like to honor Rosie please make a donation in her name to Michigan Pug Rescue.
Chloe
Oh, and here’s my sweet little Chloe. She was totally blind for the last 2 years due to Sudden acquired retinal degeneration syndrome (SARDS), and half deaf, but she fearlessly continued to be the alpha over our other 2 dogs until her last day! Such a good, sweet girl. We miss her every day! Thank you!
Mr. Magoo
Mr. Magoo passed away peacefully last Thursday, February 17th here in Denver. He was almost 16 years old! Magoo had been dealing with Cushing’s Disease, along with a host of other issues related to his elderly age. As you can imagine we spoiled him totally and completely for the 6 years that we had him. We made sure that he was always covered in warm blankets (straight out of the dryer!) because his favorite thing to do was sleep on his bed, covered in warm blankets.
As you can imagine, we are heartbroken. And the fact that we have been through this twice before with Owen and Sammy has not made this any easier. We did not expect it to be any easier. But we gave Magoo all of our love and kindness and attention for almost 6 years. In exchange, he gave us all the joy that we were searching for as pet parents.
We are sorry to share this sad news with you. But at the same time we are extremely pleased and fortunate, as we have been for over 20 years, that we found the rescue and met the both of you so many years ago. The pugs have brought us a tremendous amount of joy over the years and we would not change that for anything in the world. Mr. Magoo was well loved until the very end.
Thank you for all that you do for the pugs. And thank you for all that you have done for our family over the years. Please know how important you and the rescue have been in our lives.
Heather & Scot (and Mr. Magoo)
